Here is the story. Early this year, my elder brother intended to renew the contract of their maid. But the maid insisted to go back to Philippines as her husband urged her to do so. As such, she left my brother's family upon expiry of the contract. Some days later, she called my sister-in-law telling her that her husband had an affair with another woman. She was in a state of desperation. She did not have any money at hand. She wanted to come back to Hong Kong. Unfortunately, my brother has hired a new maid. After a couple of weeks, someone called my sister-in-law asking how was this maid. Sometime later, she returned to HK working for a new employer in Jardine Lookout. Recently, she called my sister-in-law and my mother respectively. She cried and cried saying that her new employer only give her 2 pieces of bread for breakfast as well as lunch and a pack of instant noddle for dinner. She eventually tendered resignation. She left her employer yesterday and is staying with my mother now. My mother is trying her utmost to help her find a job. She has brought her to a number of agencies. All of my family members like her very much and want to lend her a helping hand. She is very patient and kind to small children. When my niece was very sick and refused to eat, she would be very upset and sob. Sometimes, she visited us and played with my sons.
