Hi usually I will give chance at the first time... then told her that if she broke at second time... she had to buy back a new pan... then she will become more careful.
sometimes if we need to deduct salary for a small stuff eg. iron, wok... I suggest to let her buy a new one by herself so she know how much it cost.. and let her buy the one same as the one she broke (if available)... so she understand that she is not cheated... if we just deduct salary by saying an amount.. it's hard to proof the price... and she can even sue us by deducting salary as we supposed not to... hard to do..
My maid has just broken the iron. I told her to buy one with similar function and in the same brand. She has broken all the spoons and many bowls. She has ruined a lot of my clothes.
