quite confused, let me figure out:

1) your maid's working visa expired Sep 2009;
2) her passport renewed Oct 2009.

but after renewal she has NOT applied to extend her working visa which was expired.

(However, it doesn't make sense since if her visa expired Sep she wouldn't be able to renew passport here in Hong Kong in Oct.)

If that being the case, you & your maid commited an offence of illegal stay in Hong Kong.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

1) passport renewal takes only 1 week or so, but if she does it thru agent which will only takes 3 days and costs HK$160. - my maid just did last week.

2) upon the new passport issued she can go to the immigration to extend working visa, which will be granted on the same day. Don't forget giving her a letter from employer certifying that she's still under your employment and will continue to executive the rest of the employment contract.

FYI, Indo Consul only entertains passport application/renewal on weekdays' mornings and issuing in afternoon sections. If your maid processes on her own, she has to go out on weekdays. If she does it thru agent, she can give/pickup to/from agent on sundays.

I just renew the contact with my maid. Her passport will be expired next year end. she also inform me that it needs a month to process the new passport. But she says it can be done in HK but with higher cost.

Is it turn?
