I have checked with Labor Department, as per law, should pay the maid start from the date of her arrival to Hong Kong as per her employment contract with you. But not from the date she go to your home.
I pick up my maid 4-5 days after her arrival as my boss come to HK while the maid arrival Hong Kong. The agent didn't require me to pay any $. Actual the agent told me that they will have the maid to stay 2-3 days in their dorm after they arrival HK. The purpose is: (1) to handle HKID card (2) body check (3) further training.
