yes, from my experience, most of the maid their performance would become worse than the first contract. So unless the maid is very good, I will not renew the contract as their performance will be greatly discounted. But this only applies to those families with older kids. For familes where the kids are still small such as below 4, there are good points of having the same maid without interruption.
